Rescue Notes

Buddy is a handsome 10-month-old puppy. He is a boxer mix and weights 38 lbs.

Medium-sized and full of heart, Buddy is an affectionate pup. He gets along great with other dogs, cats, and children.

What makes Buddy special?
-He loves laying close to his person, especially with his head resting sweetly on your leg.
-Sleeps wonderfully in bed—he’s a cuddle pro!
-A great eater and super treat-motivated (especially when it comes to going into his kennel).
-Energetic and playful, but settles right down to cuddle and snuggle.
-Dog-friendly, cat-friendly, and great with kids!
-Loves toys of any kind, he’s always ready for playtime!

Buddy is full of personality and young-dog curiosity. He can climb 4 ft fences or child gates, so a secure yard or leash supervision is important. He also can’t be trusted alone in the kitchen just yet, he’s still learning the do’s and don’ts of human food.

Buddy is crate trained and potty trained. He walks easy on the leash and enjoys going out for walks.

His foster mom is doing a great job taking care of him and showering him with love and toys.

Buddy is incredibly sweet, smart, and just wants to be loved. He’ll thrive in a home that gives him structure, exercise, and all the belly rubs he could dream of.

The adoption fee is $650. Buddy is fully vetted: Vaccinated, microchipped, and current on heart-worm, flea, and parasite prevention.

The adoption fee covers the out-of-state transportation and health certificate.

FAQ

  1. High Shelter Overcrowding: Texas has one of the highest rates of shelter overcrowding in the U.S., leading to higher euthanasia rates due to limited space and resources. By adopting from Texas, you can save a life and reduce the burden on local shelters.

  2. Diverse Range of Breeds and Animals: Texas shelters house a wide variety of dog and cat breeds, from purebreds to mixed breeds, ensuring adopters can find a pet that suits their lifestyle and preferences.

  3. Southern Hospitality in Pets: Many pets in Texas are incredibly loving and resilient despite challenging circumstances. Adopting from Texas gives you the chance to bring home a companion with a big heart and a sweet disposition.

  4. Impact of Natural Disasters: Texas is prone to hurricanes and other natural disasters, which often result in displaced pets. Adopting helps these animals find stability and a loving home after traumatic experiences.

  5. Affordable Adoption Fees: Many Texas shelters and rescues have lower adoption fees than other states, making it a cost-effective option for bringing home a furry friend.

  6. Transportation Assistance: Several organizations and rescue groups in Texas provide transport services to adoptable animals, making it easier than ever to adopt from out of state.

  7. Community Support: By adopting from Texas, you’re supporting the animal welfare community in a state that faces significant challenges. This includes reducing euthanasia rates and advocating for improved shelter practices.

  8. Make Room for More Rescues: When you adopt from a Texas shelter, you’re not just saving one life—you’re making space for another animal in need to be rescued and cared for.

Meet and greets are done through a video call with you, the foster parent(s), and Buddy. You may ask any questions and concerns you may have.
Transport is arranged after adoption. We will coordinate with you and a transportation company. The transportation fee is included in the adoption fee.
If it doesn’t work out we will put together a plan to get the pet back to Texas if a foster in the area is not found. Please keep in mind most pets need a decompression and adjustment period.
